Besides delivering an essential commodity, Ontario’s LDCs are actively involved in their local communities. Essex Powerlines Corporation is no exception. The company recently invested $10,000 in each community of Amherstburg, LaSalle, Tecumseh and Leamington – all dedicated to youth programming and initiatives. This substantial sum is part of the company’s Youth in Community fund and brings total donations from the fund to an impressive $200,000
“Along with providing reasonable rates, consistent power quality and reliability, and local accountability, Essex Power is committed to good corporate citizenship. The events and programs receiving our Youth in Community funding have elements of education, fitness, art-cultural or social responsibility,” said Ray Tracey, the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “At Essex Power, we truly believe investing in young people is an investment in our future.”
This is the fifth consecutive year Essex Powerlines Corporation has contributed to its Youth in Community fund. This year’s contribution of $40,000 was distributed evenly amongst its shareholder communities.
